Juxtapoz x Adobe Present: Jeremy Fish "Yesterdays and Tomorrows"
Behind The Scenes: After Effects
Animation process explained by Brady Baltezore
I teamed up with Jeremy Fish and the FFDG gallery in San Francisco to curate a remarkable exhibition that unveiled over 100 of his captivating drawings, chronicling two decades of his life in the vibrant city by the bay. This was no ordinary display; Jeremy had an ingenious idea. He envisioned these treasured sketches as art and a conduit to narrate his personal journey and San Francisco's tale. We brought this concept to life through animation that danced across public spaces, becoming part of the urban landscape.
With the exhibition looming just a month away, Jeremy called upon the talents of Brady Baltezore, Chad Ford, and Karim Fawzy. Together, we embarked on a mission to transform each 11 x 14-inch drawing into a motion spectacle. The true challenge? Prepping each illustration for its animated debut. This involved brainstorming innovative ways to infuse life into the artwork, a meticulous process that started with conceptualizing ideas and flowed into Photoshop. We deconstructed and rearranged pieces of artwork, even redrawing sections to retain Jeremy Fish's unique style seamlessly.
Having spent a decade soaking up the essence of San Francisco, I deeply admired Mr. Fish's impactful art and his profound connection with the city. This was a truly rewarding project – a chance to collaborate with an artist I deeply admire and contribute to bringing his visionary concept to life for an unforgettable exhibition.
